AIDS Walk Delaware

AIDS Walk Delaware ❤️

My first cousin's daughter and granddaughter are leaders in HIV/AIDS services here in Delaware, doing remarkable work. Tom and I are here not only to support them, but also to live out what our faith calls us to do as members of Community of Christ.

One of our Enduring Principles is Worth of All Persons. One of our Mission Initiatives is Abolish Poverty, End Suffering.

For me, following Jesus has to mean more than talking about faith or passing judgment on other people. Discipleship calls us to show up—to walk beside people who are hurting, marginalized, or have been made to feel that they are somehow less worthy of God's love.

Our works don't earn God's grace. Grace is already given. But because we have received that grace, we can become instruments of God's love, compassion, healing, and hope for others.

Today, we're walking.

Because every person has worth.

Because suffering matters.

Because love requires more than words.

Christ's mission is our mission.

Darkness may be part of the journey, but it doesn't have to be the destination.

Light Heals. ❤️
