This weekend, I’ll be recording Episode 5 of Light Heals from California, from the backyard of my late brother Randy’s home with Saddleback Mountain behind me.
This episode will be a deeply personal reflection on grief, sudden loss, faith, and what it means to keep moving toward the light after losing people we love.
Loss has touched my life more than once — my father in 2003, my brother John in 2006, my mother in 2008, and most recently my brother Randy, who died only months after being diagnosed with cancer.
Some losses come without warning. Others give us only a little time to prepare. Either way, grief changes us.
In this episode, I want to talk honestly about that darkness — what it feels like, what it takes from us, what remains, and how we somehow learn to keep living while carrying the people we love with us.
Darkness may be part of the journey, but it doesn’t have to be the destination.
Light Heals.
