I Think It’s Time to Tell It All | Light Heals Episode 7

For almost sixty years, there were two versions of me: the man everyone knew, and the man almost no one knew.

In Episode 7 of Light Heals, I’m stepping back and telling you why this project exists—and more of the story behind it.

I talk about hiding my sexuality, faith, marriage and coming out, being outed, alcoholism and nine years of sobriety, grief, religious trauma, the mistakes I’ve made, finding an affirming Christian community, my marriage to Tom, and what it has meant to finally live as one whole person.

This isn’t a story about having everything figured out. I certainly don’t.

It’s about what happened when I finally stopped hiding.

If you’ve ever carried something in silence, struggled with shame, addiction, grief, faith, identity, or simply wondered whether there could be something beyond the darkness you’re experiencing, I hope you’ll spend a little time with me.

And if you know someone who might need to hear this, please share it.

Darkness may be part of the journey, but it doesn’t have to be the destination. Light Heals.
