Sometimes darkness doesn’t look dark.
Sometimes it looks like a perfectly respectable life that simply isn’t your life.
In my twenties, I was building the kind of future I thought I was supposed to have. From the outside, it looked like I was moving toward the light. Inside, the real me was becoming harder and harder to ignore.
Healing eventually began when I stopped asking, “How do I make this life work?” and started asking, “What is actually true?”
Darkness may be part of the journey, but it doesn’t have to be the destination.
