When Loss Changes the Shape of Your Life

Grief, faith, family, and the light that remains

I recorded this episode from my late brother Randy’s backyard in Southern California, only months after his death.

This is a deeply personal reflection on sudden loss — my father, my brother John, my mother, Randy, and now my cousin Rick, whose death I learned about just before traveling here.

It’s about grief, faith, loneliness, family, and what it means to keep living when so many of the people who shaped your life are gone.

I don’t believe God causes tragedy to make us stronger. I believe terrible things happen — and that God meets us there.

Light does not erase the darkness. It does not make the loss disappear. But it can still give us something to move toward.

Darkness may be part of the journey, but it doesn’t have to be the destination.

Light Heals.
